Flue gas
desulfurisation
In 2003 atea produced, delivered and installed the penstocks for a flue gas desulfurisation tower of a lignite power plant.
atea needed only eleven weeks to complete the engineering, production and installation project elements.
We installed four levels of penstocks made from polypropy- lene, with cone nozzles made from silicon carbide. They are used for the cleaning of the flue gases from the lignite power plant.
The wet scrubber has a diameter of nearly 19 meters and a height of 40 meters. In it, a cleaning solvent is sprayed into the flue gas flow; this extracts the sulphur dioxide contained within the flue gases.
