atea is a specialist in the cleaning of exhaust air and waste water. We offer:

  • Flue gas cleaning plants
  • Packed towers
  • Spray scrubbers
  • Quenches
  • Droplet separators
  • Penstocks
  • Stripping plants
  • Apparatus and duct engineering

Large dimensions, sensitive problems or demanding processes and technologies: such challenges encourage atea to demonstrate their best qualities.

We master the process technology and maintain the overview in each situation. The plants projected by atea are always examples of a responsible awareness of the environment as well as the use of resources.

Flue gas
desulfurisation

In 2003 atea produced, delivered and installed the penstocks for a flue gas desulfurisation tower of a lignite power plant.

atea needed only eleven weeks to complete the engineering, production and installation project elements.

We installed four levels of penstocks made from polypropy- lene, with cone nozzles made from silicon carbide. They are used for the cleaning of the flue gases from the lignite power plant.

The wet scrubber has a diameter of nearly 19 meters and a height of 40 meters. In it, a cleaning solvent is sprayed into the flue gas flow; this extracts the sulphur dioxide contained within the flue gases.

NH3-stripping

In 2004, we implemented the engineering, production and installation of an ammonia stripping plant for the cleaning of waste water.

atea managed the complex process technology, in which the waste water is heated and stripped with air in a counter-current column. The ammonia is then absorbed in a second column to create a high-grade ammonium sulphate solution.

This is an example of the use of an extensive approach, where not only the waste water is cleaned to protect the environment but valuable raw materials are recycled and fed back into the production process.
